Kaiwara: A Mythical Trekking Destination
If you’re captivated by mythology and crave an adventure, pack your backpacks and set off to Kaiwara—a quaint village in Chikballapur, formerly known as Ekachakrapura. Located approximately 65 km from Bengaluru, Kaiwara is steeped in history and myth. Let’s explore this hidden gem!
Kaiwara owes its fame to the great poet Sri Yogi Kaiwara Narayana Taatha, affectionately known as Thataiyya. A bilingual poet and devoted follower of Lord Amara Narayana, his legacy lives on in the village.
Kaiwara’s rugged terrain offers a challenging trekking experience. The steep hills and tough paths are not for the faint-hearted, but the breathtaking vistas make it all worthwhile.
Kaiwara, nestled in Chintamani Taluk, offers a spiritual journey intertwined with Mahabharata and Ramayana tales. The hills and valleys echo with ancient legends, making it a treat for both believers and adventure enthusiasts.
Choose either the Bangalore-Hoskote-Kaiwara route or the Bangalore-Devanahalli-Vijayapura-Kaiwara route. Be cautious while trekking Bheema Bakasura, as it’s not suitable for beginners. Plan your visit between December and March or June and September to avoid heavy rains.
